I feel like a failure for neglecting my DW. Still, still, there's no point in complaining about the past so let's just move on to more interesting things - your mileage may vary, of course.

I saw Sherlock Holmes last week: it was quite good actually, and it would have totally bombed - Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law were AWESOME in it - if Guy Ritchie didn't suck so much as a director. I mean, the slow motion scenes were painful to watch, and the ravens were as subtle as a flying brick. Still, I enjoyed it nevertheless, and it made me want to re-read some good ol' A. C. Doyle. Ah, good stuff.

A sequel for the glorious A Very Potter Musical is in the works. THIS. IS. TOTALLY. AWESOME. Between this and Futurama coming back, I cannot seriously wait for summer to be here.

I have started studying Quenya, the elvish language invented by J. R. R. Tolkien himself. It's really, really cool.
If anyone's interested, here's the course I'm taking. Props to whoever made it, it's really helpful and in-depth.

I hope everyone had a nice New Year's Eve!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, YOU ALL!

I wish you all a happy happy Christmas, a wonderful 2010 and an awesome decade!

I fiddled around with my layout a little, and now I have a new one - yay for finally getting rid of that hideous reddish layout I had!

Thank you, [personal profile] revolutions!

Douglas Adams, you were right: Mark Knopfler does have an extraordinary ability at making a Schecter Custom Stratocaster hoot and sing like angels on a Saturday night, exhausted from being good all week and needing a stiff beer. Good stuff.

And talking about music: I'm nine months late but, man, U2's No Line on the Horizon sucks badly. The only bearable songs are I'll Go Crazy if I Don't go Crazy Tonight and Moment of Surrender. Please go back to your late-eighties/early-nineties selves, guys.

Just two mere days, and the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince DVD will be out. Fuck yes. It's been ages since Order of the Phoenix, I believe I deserve some new behind-the-scenes features. And I just can't wait to see that J. K. Rowling: A Year in the Life documentary (yes, throw tomatoes at me, I still haven't seen it!). Still, is a audio commentary too much to ask for? I've been waiting for one since... I don't know, 2004? Pretty please?!

I keep hearing good things about Sons of Anarchy. Does anyone here watch it? Is it really worth a shot? I'm really curious about it, but I'm horribly busy at the moment and I have to be selective on what I'm watching - I had to give up on The Mentalist last month, but I hope to catch up with it next summer. So yeah, any feeback on Sons of Anarchy is highly appreciated.

Computer is being a pain in the butt. The damn thing doesn't let me play CDs and DVDs. Damn. :(

Some Calvin and Hobbes goodness... )

Hai there, random meme! )

I hate that I still haven't basically used this journal. So I thought "hey, what about starting with a Follow Friday?". It can only be a good thing, right?

Anyway, here you are a couple of suggestions for this week. Enjoy!

[community profile] dontpanic - A community for the late Douglas Adams and his excellent Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Because we all need a Pangalactic Gargle Blaster once in a while.
[community profile] futurama - A place to discuss Matt Groening's most underrated creation, Futurama. This community could use a couple of new users, especially since the show is coming back!
[community profile] firefly - Another mistreated TV show, another place where you can worship it. I know there's plenty of Browncoats here: c'mon, come out of the closet!
[community profile] daily_snitch - A quite useful and exhaustive newsletter for all things Potter. It's really handy if you want to keep up with the ever-growing Harry Potter fandom.

There. See you soon!

Hi! I'm Angelica and I'm your average teen nerd. I'm almost seventeen, Italian, and I consider my dog the light of my eyes.

Here you'll find a handy list of my main interests. Thank you for being here!

Main Fandoms: Harry Potter, Futurama, House MD, Chuck, The X-Files, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Lord of the Rings, Firefly, His Dark Materials, Calvin and Hobbes, National Treasure.

About this journal:I totally love spoilers and nerdy discussions. Therefore, most entries in this journal will be fandom-centric; but you'll also find the occasional meme or a real life post or two.
I make fandom-related icons. I used to write and read fanfiction, but I discovered that I'm just a canon girl at heart and so I'm not into it anymore.
Most entries in this journal are public. Still, if you're interested you can add me whenever you want. I'm not a picky person: there's a 99% chance I'll add you back!

If you're a LiveJournal user, you might want to check out my journal over there: angelikfire.

More this way! )
